Help for the ATV Map page.

 Please NOTE you Must have Java Scripts enabled to Use this ATV Map WEB PAGE

and you Must have cookies enabled to save your Friends List info.


Getting marker to show up:

After the map comes up click on { Show U.S.A. ATV/Repeaters } or (Show World Stations/Repeaters) button.. "Dark Green area".
That alone should give you ATV stations and Repeaters MARKERS. It will take 30 to 90 seconds to load the marker file.
The Red markers are ATV ham Station the Blue markers are ATV Repeaters 

 

If you want to see the rest of the World Station/Repeaters, you can click on ( Show World Stations/Repeaters ) button .

 

The text box in Yellow will show you the Info about the station. The Grid is Calculated

The Red Markers are stations                         You can also select a station by there Call List in the far right of the Map.

 the Blue Markers is Repeaters.

View Stations Info:

If you have a Mouse that has a wheel on it  and you have this box check .You can use that wheel to Zoom in and out .  It can be slow acting on some computers. 

 

When you Check the Mouse Over box It will show the Info window. 
When you move the mouse over a marker it will show you the info on that station Ham Call.,Hams Name, and Elevation.
When this Check box is uncheck to get the Info window to show you have to click on the Marker to see the Info window.

 

You can use this box as a search filter. Lets say you only want to see station within 8 land just put that into the box and select Call Search . I will only show

 Station with a 8 in there Call . You can use full Calls or any part of a call.  If you use  LGA  as a search then I'll be the only station on the map.

View your Friends List

The Ham Friends List is a drop down list . That you can select from/

 

 

Once you have selected a Marker of a station That Call will then be in the Friends area under Edit CALL. At the point you can Select Add Station

and the Station then will be add to you Friends List.  Your own Station MUST be the first in the List.  That way if you select the Friends list your 

Station will be the GREEN marker on the map (see Distance/Degrees below)  getting the distance and Degrees to Friend markers.

 

If you have a Station in the Friends List you can Remove that Station . By Selecting that Station in the Station Drop down list

There Call will be in the Edit CALL  box  .  To Remove just select Remove Station button.

The Replace a Station in the Friends First select the Station there Call will then be in the Drop down list and Edit CALL box.

To Replace That station just Edit the Edit CALL to for the correct Station . Then select Replace Station button.

Find Distance/Degree from Station to Station: ( Lite Green Area )

After it shows all the markers then click on { ATV Home Location } Button ( this is your Location on the map.) 
After you click that button when you click on your station marker it will change from a red color to a Green marker.

Then click on the { ATV Station to } Button.
( Thats the station you want to find out the Degrees and Distance to that station from the Green marker Icon.)
Pick a marker and left click on that marker it will then draw a yellow line from the Green marker to the marker you just left clicked.


You can click on an other marker any time and it will show you the Degrees and Distance to that marker from the Green marker.

This uses the Station Calls that are on the Buttons in the Lite Green area (Find the distance and degrees between two Markers)

This will show you a Graft of the Elevation between two Markers that has a Yellow line between them.
Once you have a yellow line between two markers you can press the Show Path Profile button . 

 


It will make a new window with that info init. to Make the Red line of site take account of the antenna height there is two text box on the web page .

 It marked Left Station that would be the Green marker and the right Station 
would be the (to station) . and It draws a Red line between the two Antenna Heights.
If you leave the Height blank it will make the antenna height ZERO.

Setting the Stations Filters: ( White Area )
Just below the Map is some check Boxes. This boxes allow you to set filters for different band view.
If you check the 70cm box it will only show you the Stations/Repeaters that have that band.
You can check another box for other bands.
The ALL check box shows all stations thats loaded.
Unknow is station that I don't have any band info on.
note Friends filter 
If you have the Friends ELabels check box (Lite Blue Area). This will make it so under each Marker of a
Friends Station marker will be there Call Letters in a see through Box, only on the Friends filter.

Search: ( White Area )
In the Call Search box you can put text of the stations call and then click on the Call Search Button
This text doesn't have to be the full call of the station. Like if you wanted to see all stations that has
the letter of "W" in the call. It would show WB8LGA, WU8O, KA8LWR because they have a "W" some where in there call.
You can show 4 landers by searching for only the 4 in the text box. This doesn't take very long to show the results.

Find Distance/Degree from Station to Station: ( Lite Green Area )
After it shows all the markers then click on { ATV Home Location } Button ( this is your Location on the map.)

Then click on the { ATV Station to } Button.

ATV Ham Friends List: ( Lite Blue Area )
This Lite Blue area allows you to make up a list of Stations/Repeaters that you want to see on the Map by them selfs. NOTE: I'm having problems with Friends filters if you Load Repeaters . Working on it !
I call it my Friends list. The first call that need to be added is YOUR OWN Ham Call.
1. Get Markers on the map . see above.
2. Left click on the marker. This will put the stations Ham Call into the Edit CALL text box.
3. Once the Ham Call is in the Edit Box you can do one of the following.
A. Add the Ham Call to the list. ( Add Station ) button.
B. Remove the selected Ham Call from the list. ( Remove Station ) button.
C. Replace the Ham Call of the selected List with the Edit Box text. ( Replace Station ) button
4. If you have the Friends ELabels check box check This will make it so under each Marker of a Friends Station marker
will be there Call Letters in a see through Box. If you have the Friends filter selected only.
5. The info of all the ATV Ham Friends List Calls are saved into your cookies under (mapinfo).
This allow you to keep that list for future use.
Once you have the Friends Filter ,your Ham Marker will turn Green. Now if you click onto another marker
it will show you the distance and degree to that station. Even if you change the Filter selection your station
marker will stay Green. Meaning any marker you now click on it will show you the distance/degrees to that station.

Show Elevations: ( Yellow Area )
